The Table. It’s the metaphor we’ve organized ourselves around, because there’s no better visual we can think of to convey community, inclusion, conversation, and communion. But imagine a dinner table with Jesus. What would the conversation be like? Who would be invited? Who would be left out? 

For the next while, we will be examining the accounts of meals with Jesus from the New Testament – and a few stories he tells all about meals, parties, and other “table” gatherings. All of this in preparation for setting a new table of our own, and opening up our doors to a new community – and a new kind of connecting with it.
